Our Story
Placing extreme value on community and fellowship, Greggton is a Global Methodist church dedicated to fostering relationships with God, understanding God's word and building God's Kingdom. While we are devout followers and place emphasis on Bible-based teaching, we do believe it is necessary to ask questions and explore the teachings of Jesus and the Bible further. We are a traditional Wesleyan Methodist Church with a few modern touches to enhance our relatability to the community.

Our History
Greggton Methodist celebrates a rich 115-history in the Greggton area of Longview with the first church named Center Point being located half way between Longview and White Oak. The first church met in a 40'x 60' wood frame structure with a weekly Sunday School, and worship services available only when a circuit-riding minister or evangelist made his way to Longview, usually once a month. It was in 1941 that the church became Greggton Methodist Church, recording 328 members in 1942.
In May 1951 a permanent building committee was created to address space issues due to rapid growth, but the process to find property to build upon and the construction itself would take nearly a decade. On October 23, 1960, a Service of Consecration was held in the new facilities. The Pine Tree Road location served the church until 2024 when the church sold that building to Church on Purpose in order to eventually move to the 803 Gilmer Road location once the newly purchased building is remodeled.
The congregation is currently meeting in the Community Connections Library as the massive remodel occurs. The church body has perservered through the years, and though the names, places, and buildings may have changed, the thing that remains steadfast is the heart of Greggton, which beats strong and welcomes all who seek to become followers of Christ.
