What we want people to know about Greggton. Our passion is make a difference in people’s lives. We believe that the best way we do that is by helping people live as followers of Jesus. We like to put it like this- Our mission is that more and more people are living in and sharing the LIGHT of Christ. We’re so passionate about that we use a way to help us think about what that means: L.I.G.H.T. Listening to the Holy Spirit Inviting people to the Table. Giving blessings as we go through life (do all the good you can) Hearing from the Gospels. Taking inventory of your life in Christ.
We are a United Methodist Church. As United Methodists, we believe that living as followers of Jesus is all we ever hope to be. United Methodists are part of the larger Christian faith and affirm all of the historic beliefs of the faith as articulated in the historic creeds of the church. We affirm the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as our God who has been decisively revealed in Jesus of Nazareth and continues to be present and at work in our lives in the form of the Holy Spirit. This understanding of God is known as the Trinity. We believe in the Bible as central to our faith, our lives, and our well being. To learn more about what we believe in the United Methodist Church, go to http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe. We share ministry with other believers. Making disciples is bigger than getting people to Greggton. That’s why we share in a partnership with Wesley McCabe United Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, White Oak United Methodist Church and Crossroads United Methodist Church in Kilgore. Our goal is that we are helping each other reach people with the love of Jesus Christ, connect people to Jesus and each other, form people in the likeness of Christ, and send people out to lead Kingdom lives in our neighborhoods and the world.
