Centennial Celebration is Almost Here!
We will celebrate 100 years of ministry in the name of Christ here in Longview on September 19, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Tree Auditorium. Our bishop, Janice Huie, will be preaching, there will be great music, share memories, and joyous worship. That will be followed by a catered barbeque lunch, concert, and children's activities here at the church.
Tickets go on sale this Sunday: $10 per person or $40 maximum for a family. To be prepared for such a big event, tickets need to be purchased prior to that day.
For such a momentous occasion we are going to build toward the Centennial Celebration with a week-long revival. Beginning Sunday evening, September 12, we will have a slate of preachers with a history here at Greggton, including: Lynne Settlemyre, Becky Love, Jeff Hastings, Nick Sholars, Matt Idom, and Harral Dunnam. Additionally, we will have renowned evangelist, David Ring, join us one evening. There will be a birthday party for the church at Kid's Station on Wednesday night that week and a tailgate party on Friday night (and, yes, you will be done in time to get to the football games).
Block out that whole week on your calendar. This is BIG—100 years in the making.
Kids’ Time Starts Sept. 8, Great Volunteer Opportunity
Mark your calendars for the start of Kids’ Time on Sept. 8. This is a great family program that focuses on families with children ages birth through 6th grade.
This year Kids’ Time will take place on Wednesday evenings at Kids Station. It starts at 5:30 with time for kids to play and families to eat delicious Kids’ Station pizza before making their way to the back for a short but exciting and meaningful worship service. Everything ends by 7:30 pm so the young ones have time to get plenty of sleep for the next school day.
You can help! Spread the news to all your neighbors, friends, classmates, co-workers, etc. Let them know about this great ministry.
It’s also a great volunteer opportunity for you! Come discover Scott Toliver’s secret for delicious pizza, greet the families, play/sing music, or simply be the compassionate hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

Youth update…
Some of you already know and some of you may have heard but we are restructuring GYM as we know it. We have cancelled GYM on Wednesday nights to open up other opportunities for ministry. I know you may have some concerns and questions about this decision and I will hopefully address those this Sunday morning during the worship services.
Having said that, we are excited about what direction we are headed. We are moving our youth ministry towards a more relational evangelism model. We will continue to meet on Sunday nights at Kids Station from 5:30-7: 30. This meeting will be a hybrid of GYM and youth. We will take some of the best things that we do at each and combine them into one great evening. I hope that you will be there this Sunday to hear about our new direction. Bible Study Coming In September
A Bible Study Class for nine weeks is starting in September entitled “Beth Moore’s Study on Esther.” The class will be on Wednesday mornings and will cost $15 for a workbook. Please contact Linda Eaves at 903.643.7743 to sign up.
