What are Small-Group ministries? People helping people live with hope. That hope comes from the realization that our stories are found in the bigger story of God who brings new life and possibilities to us all. So we are passionate about people. We are bold about living as followers of Jesus. We are convinced that Christ is the center of all.
Reaching People with the Love of Jesus Christ. Every one of our groups is committed to reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ. Some years ago, one of our pastors was introduced to this prayer: Lord, send us to those no one else wants, and no one else sees. This is our heart, our passion.
Connecting People to Jesus and to Each Other So we think one of the best ways for us to help each other is to first of all care for each other. We do that in groups. Some groups meet weekly. Some groups meet for short term studies. All of them meet to care for each other and reflect on who God is in our lives, and what it means to be faithful followers.
Forming People and being formed in the likeness of Christ Then, other groups are designed to help you develop the spiritual growth tools for a deeper walk with Christ. These groups are called FORM groups and include prayer groups, and LIGHT groups that are about the spiritual disciplines of Listening to the Holy Spirit, Inviting someone to share a meal with you, Give a Blessing to someone, Hear from the Gospels, and Taking daily inventory of your life. We also encourage people to attend one of the Grace Emmaus weekends held in the Spring and Fall. The weekends (Thursday night through Sunday) are designed to help you explore your faith anew, and to be reminded of the life changing grace of Christ.
Sending people to live Kingdom lives We believe your faith ought to show itself in service and love. So we encourage groups and individuals to serve their neighbors, to serve through ministries of the church, and to join with other churches and organizations in service to our brothers and sisters.
